18 members and growing

Nomination Season starts this Saturday, so come and join the MEFAwards group at YahooGroups so you can get in on the action. We want the best LOTR, Silm, and The Hobbit fiction to be nominated, and then we want you to vote on which stories are the best. You vote by commenting. The more you write, the more your vote is worth.

Drop by http://mefawards.agreatserver.com and check it out. The more the merrier!

New Middle-Earth Fanfiction Awards!

That's right, I've started a new Awards contest for LOTR fanfiction. I wanted to do these based on the ASC model my MAE is so fond of. What makes them different? You vote by commenting! You leave feedback as your vote! So every author who gets a vote gets something precious!

And we've (another LOTR friend and I) come up with some fun Awards titles for the main categories. Like The Morgoth Award (1st place), the Eye of Sauron Award (2nd) and the Witch King of Angmar Award (3rd) for the Horror category.

I do hope you'll participate if you write--or even just read!--Lord of the Rings (also Silm and The Hobbit) fanfiction. The more we get to participate, the better it will be.

You have to join a YahooGroup to participate. Saves me from having to learn all that fancy coding. I know basic HTML and that's about it. So join the MEFAwards group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MEFAwards/. You can read the FAQ there, or if you want to read it before joining, try this site: http://mefawards.agreatserver.com/Awards%20FAQ.html

Know some good fan artists? We need them, too! Someone needs to make the banner graphic awards for us. There's a large variety that need to be made, as there are 14 main categories (and three prizes each!). I hope to get two banners submitted per prize so that we can have a contest for the banners as well.

Web page change!

I forgot! When I changed my e-mail address (due to virus-laden spam), I forgot to note it here so those looking for pics of my costumes could still find them. They are now at home.earthlink.net/~ainae. Just shortened to my nickname.

And have you heard? The ROTK Theatrical DVD will be released a bit earlier than FOTR and TTT were. It's coming out May 25. You can preorder your copy now or wait until it hits the stores.

Ainaechoiriel will be seen again!

That's right. I've been looking for an excuse to replace my MAE at choir practice. Well, her birthday is this Wednesday, and so is choir practice! And since ROTK is still in theaters, I have an excuse!

So tomorrow evening I, Ainaechoiriel, will be taking Gabrielle's place at choir practice. I do love music!
